Two of my favourite games this year are now available for a very small price, the super scary Bioshock 2 is an incredible £7.99 and Alan Wake is now a very affordable £17.99 which is also just in time for the first DLC episode. Fable II Game of the Year Edition is a bargain at only £7.99 and Bayonetta falls below a tenner.

If you somehow missed Batman Arkham Asylum last year, you simply cannot afford to miss it at £7.99 at Gameplay, whilst no gaming collection should be missing Gears of War 2 Game of the Year Edition especially when it’s only £9.95 at Zavvi. Someone out there may be tempted that Ghostbusters is now £12.95 on the 360 but I doubt that many will rush to get it, but if it’s a quality game you want then Mass Effect £21.98 should be right up your street.

Xbox Live users who are in need of Microsoft points for Ultimate Team or want to buy some ready for the next Call of Duty maps will be pleased to hear that 7 day shop currently have 2100 points for only £14.99.

I noticed the other day that Zavvi now have a presence on auction site Ebay, some of the games on there are more expensive than the store itself but more interestingly some are a little cheaper such as Call of Juarez : Bound in Blood which is only £13.99 on the PS3. If your kids have a PS3 and wanting to keep them quiet this Easter, it may be worth picking up Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty for only £7.99. It may also be mentioning that Eyepet (game only) is £10.95. Another must buy for PS3 gamers is MAG Collectors Edition which is reduced to £29.85

If all the talk of Heavy Rain is making you want to purchase a PS3 Console, you can pick up the 80gb version from Sainsbury’s online for £199, 120gb is £217 instore at Asda and the 250gb is £230 at Asda also. You can then pick up the new game God of War 3 for £34.99 or Call of Duty: World at War (PS3) Pre-owned for £12.99 at Game.

For those of you that have been waiting patiently for DJ Hero to drop in price, you will be glad to hear that it has dropped to £49 at Tesco Direct. Forza 3 is another great game that has finally dropped below the twenty pounds mark and can be yours for a cool £19.99 thanks to Amazon. On the 360 the cheapest price for Bioshock 2 is currently £29.95 at the game collection.

Highly rated game Army of Two: The 40th Day is only £23.99 on both PS3 and the 360 but if you are on a budget and enjoy picking up popular games on the cheap, Halo Wars is £13.99 whilst Halo 3 can be picked up for £7.93 from Amazon or the original Bioshock for £9.93 over at the Hut. Dark Void is also a very tempting £12.99 on both PS3 and 360.

After it was revealed in the media this week that high street stores charge different prices across the country depending on their location, gamers need to be more savvy than ever but luckily there are some fantastic bargains available whatever your taste in games.

The Zavvi mega Monday is always a good place to start Neil’s Deals especially considering that at the moment if you simply text “Zavvi” to “82100″ you are rewarded with a £1.00 off voucher. If you use this voucher you can pick up games at a fantastic price. For example Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City for £16.95, Tekken 6 on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 for £16.95, Batman Arkham Asylum £16.95 again on both Xbox 360 and PS3 with PES 2010.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising on the Xbox 360 is only a mouth watering £15.99 if you Enter “shoptovoucher3″ at checkout.

As it’s Christmas though, the best offer to keep the family this happy this Christmas would be Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action on the Xbox 360 with four wireless controllers £8.95 with the afore mentioned voucher.

If you want to appear really generous this Christmas you could do much worse than a 12 month Empire Magazine subscription which comes with Assassins Creed 2 for free, I believe the offer is also with FHM if that’s your thing.

Ready 2 Rumble: Revolution is only £6.95 for boxing Wii fans, and it is also worth checking out if Comet have games such as Pikmin or Mad world in stock near you for only £4.99.

It may also be worth me mentioning that if you buy one £15 iTunes gift card at Tesco you get the second one half price meaning you pay £22.50 for £30 worth of card. This is confirmed to be available in most Tesco stores nationwide and ends 9 December but is not available online. It is also being reported that Morrisons are selling 2 x £15 ITunes cards for only £20 so might be worth asking the friendly cashier to scan there first.

Wet would be a very tempting bargain of the week for £12.99 on both Xbox 360 and PS3 but I found a little to disappointing to do so.

The game Wet is a prime example of this and PS3 owners can now pick up the game for only £12.99, which may make someone a good Christmas present.

Of the big name chart topping games, there are a few savings to be had out there, the cheapest price I have seen Left 4 Dead 2 is £32.99 on the Xbox 360, Forza 3 is £28.99, PES 2010 £17.95, Borderlands £22.99 on both PS3 and Xbox 360 and Assassins Creed 2 can be yours for only £33.73 if you enter “Hwalk” in the promotional code box upon checkout. You can also get Need for Speed Shift for £23.99 or pre-order Super Street Fighter for £21.85.

For 24 hours only Zavvi have the fantastic game Batman Arkham Asylum for £17.95 on both Xbox 360 & PS3 and Mini Ninjas is a must for the kids on both major consoles for £12.93.

For those of you on the look out for a nice cheap bargain look no further than the fantastic Mass Effect for only £7.99. This is an amazing price for a game that you can lose yourself for 100 hours whilst awaiting the sequel. The quite highly rated IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds Of Prey (IL2) on the 360 also looks very tempting at £17.99 along with X-Men Origins: Wolverine for only £12.93. Hardcore race fans can also now pick up Colin McRae: Dirt 2 for £18.85.

PS3 users can enjoy Resistance 2 for £12.79, Infamous £14.99 or Killzone 2 for £12.99 Far Cry 2 £8.99 (also 360) or Fuel for only £7.85.

As we head towards the back end of the year it seems we have quite a few “Game of the Year” editions on the gaming shelves but fortuitously at a good price. Gears of War 2 GOTY is £15.99, Fable II GOTY £15.99, Fallout 3 GOTY £15.99 and Street Fighter 4 Collectors Edition £15.99

If you find yourself with some spare cash and feel the urge to treat yourself, the turtle beach ear force X! The only downside of these is when somebody comes into your room in the real world and you jump out of your skin like a big girl because you were lost in the game. The cheaper option is the Officially Licensed Modern Warfare Throat Mic Communicator Headset for £14.99.

CEX have some classic underated games for under a fiver on the Xbox 360, for example for only £3 you can pick up Prey, Perfect Dark Zero, Too Human, Project Sylpheed or Blitz: The League. If you are feel like splashing out £4 you can choose from Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, Stranglehold or The Darkness.

Bargain of the Week
Although we concentrate mainly on console games, the deal of the week this week goes to the PC double pack of  BioShock/ The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. For a mouth watering £4.99 you can own two fantastic games for under a fiver that will provide more hours of winter fun on a PC than even Football Manager could offer the average gamer.
