This is a rare moment where the film may be better than the book.

You think so? I was worried about the fact that 70% of the book was internal dialog that was opposite of how she acted. Not sure how that would translate on camera but I willing to view with optimism!

Lol my girlfriend thought the movie was shit, overlong and boring! Obviously I'll make my own judgement but we usually have the same taste in movies. And yeh Xebou, my missus' friend she saw it with has read the trilogy and she said the exact same thing; there are moments of dense silence where you just know she's thinking something important but the film makes zero attempt to show it.

I think Jennifer Lawrence's facial expressions make up for a lot. She's VERY Katniss, and that's what I love. I really liked the film. I felt it set a very tense tone, and it kept it going throughout. Some of the camera work/directing was questionable, but I had a lot of fun with the movie.

Just finished Catching Fire. I liked it just as much as Hunger Games. Though I guess the pacing was a little off. That may be because I was rushing to give the book back though.
My sister is currently reading Mockingjay and she said it's not as good as the other two. We'll see.
