Cool! I was hoping they'd bolster the multiplayer; I'm already sick of the few maps on offer and I don't even play it that much! And that Striker rifle looks beastly! I hope the d/l isn't too big...

The DLC that's got my blood boiling is the Summer-due 'ending' DLC. So people moan about the ending and they rush out some DLC to give them 'closure' but one of the main draws of the whole series is massively broken and they can barely manage to give us an ETA on a patch for it? Nice, Bioware. Very nice...

Trust me, all it needs is some decent exposition. I can't say any more at this stage as i'm guessing you've still not played it. Personally, I was happy with my ending - I just wanted to see how my choice affected everyone afterwards however. So i'm happy. Although this does now feed in to two other points people seem to be overlooking:

1) Will this forever be vaporware? ie: only available digitally? (If so, what about those gamers who don't have a great internet access, or can afford XBL gold memberships etc?)

2) Does this mean that they'll release a newer version of the game as physical product at some future date with it included? If so, I can see a whole host of fans being pissed off again. I call it the "Lost" effect - there is no way that everyone will like the artistic vision of any ending, but that just goes to show how emotionally invested people are/were in to this universe.

Whatever happens, BioWare can't win this one really - but they've nobody to blame but themselves for not taking the time to finish it properly prior to release. Whilst it may be the most gorgeous looking of the series, it is also the shortest I felt. I didn't even race thru it, and whilst I played it (pretty much) every night for 2 weeks after work, the first and second games played in the same way took so much longer. I took my time too.

I just hope the content is there for me to revisit it in a couple of months time when the patch arrives.

It's another free multiplayer-centric pack that will see a whole host of new maps, weapons, and characters added. Here's the official low-down from BioWare:

Three Brand New Maps
With the fate of the galaxy at stake, Earth's military efforts have concentrated on three strategic locations. Defend Firebase Rio, home to the N7 training facility, along with Firebase Vancouver and Firebase London in the last stand for mankind.

New Array of Playable N7 Characters
Step into the boots of the Alliance's most elite military unit with the N7 Demolisher Engineer, N7 Destroyer Soldier, N7 Fury Adept, N7 Sentinel Paladin, N7 Shadow Infiltrator and N7 Slayer Vanguard.

New Unique & Powerful Weaponry
Lay waste to the enemy by unlocking the N7 Piranha Shotgun, N7 Typhoon Assault Rifle and Acolyte Pistol.

New Powerful Upgrades
Outfit your weapons with 12 new modifications and fortify your gear with 11 unique upgrades to defeat even the toughest foes.

New "Platinum" Difficulty
Conquer bronze in your sleep? Take down Silver with one hand? Beat Gold without breaking a sweat? Then grab your friends and test your skills on the brand-new Platinum difficulty.

New In-Mission Objective
Randomly occurring during waves 3, 6 and 10, this new objective will challenge teams to keep a targeted agent alive by protecting and escorting them to a designated extraction zone on each map.

Mass Effect 3's next piece of single-player DLC: Citadel, will be available as two separate but equally important downloads for Xbox 360 users, BioWare recently announced. Because of its size, the development team were forced to split the download in two.

The first is marked at the previously announced price of $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points), while the second is free. Those who attempt to download only the free, second pack will receive an error message prompting them to purchase the first. PlayStation 3 and Windows PC users will receive the DLC in a single download however.

The DLC offers a chance for Shepard to reconnect with old squad mates, and rekindle (or should that be re-enkindle?) romances. It will not affect the game's finale and is the last DLC pack for the game.

Citadel is slated for release on March 5th 2013.

It's been one hell of a ride, and one i'm personally thankful to have been able to experience.
