Batman: Arkham City

Postby TMM » Sat Dec 18, 2010 1:42 pm

Well, I can't be the only Arkham Asylum fan here. Who's looking forward to the recently trailered Batman sequel?

Arkham City offers a larger play space in a section of Gotham City, but how do you think it'll turn out? I personally think considering you get a section of city to explore, it may still feel quite small - I don't think you will be able to scale the buildings (ie spiderman, assassin's creed) and I think this may make the game feel a little limited.

On a side note I personally think the Asssassin's Creed engine would be perfect for a Batman game!

I don't want it to be an open world, the fact that Arkham Asylum worked so well was because they didn't take the shackles off.

Also...
spiderman

Oh no you didn't!

I'm very much looking forward to this game - loved Arkham Asylum! It's been quite a while in development so I'm expecting great things from it. It better not disappoint...

I think you need one or the other - keep it confined to a large complex, ie arkham asylum, or have a full blown free-roam game ala Spiderma-N (just doing it to wind you up now :P) but I have a feeling it's going to be stuck inbetween two styles, and that is what worries me...

I shall still enjoy it, and hopefully the collector's edition next time won't be as rubbish as what we ended up with for the first one

Asylum was my game of the year for 09, and I am expecting the next game to be right up there again!

However I don't want an open world, it doesn't need to go the sandbox route, Asylum was to classy for the next game stoop that low.

My big issue though is the fucking title, Arkam City??? WHAT THE FUCK??
I'm Batman! Well okay maybe not, but I bloody deserve to be after collecting all those Riddler trophies in Arkham City!

Andy I'm curious about this. I've heard you bitch on about 4 different net mediums about this title. Why?

I know it's a bit far fetched but I think it's cool. It's in keeping with the simplicity of the title of the first while at the same time differentiating it from the first. What else were they going to call it: Batman: Arkham Asylum Which Is Now A Sort Of City Not Just An Asylum?

There's loads of mail-order comic stores online. Also try Forbidden Planet, there HAS to be one near you. You might have to skip over to Bournemouth though I'm not sure.

Lmao skip over to Bournemouth?? As stupid as it sounds Bournemouth is like almost 2 hour train ride from here, which is stupid as it takes like 45 mins in a car, to which I don't drive. But no, no comic book stores around here anymore. I remember when he had like 4 minimum.

Just got an ipad 2 so probably look to get a digital copy
