Decent mix of single and multiplayer (though obviously i'd prefer Singleplayer to outweigh the online component)
That said, I'd be very interested in doing a TIMJ Game Night for Mass Effect 3.
How many people would provisionally be up for that? Be a great way to experience this together and unlock some cheevos
Perhaps we could promote this via our feeds to gauge some interest from readers?

Re: Mass Effect 3 Achievements
I'm in like Flynn (and trust me, not being a big fan of multiplayer anything due to the unforgiving nature of the beast, you won't hear me saying this often).
PS: You beat me to it, I was going to create a Mass Effect 3 Achievement guide today, but you've now freed up some time for me to get some gaming in, good times! Heh

Good man
I'm going to start adding some tips on how to get some of the achievements. I managed to Hijack an Atlus yesterday, so will put up a mini guide a bit later today if anybody needs help with that

Re: Mass Effect 3 Achievements
RIght! Sorry, I kind of forgot about this
So...Hijacking an Atlus. Maybe some minor to major spoilers here, so look away if you don't want anything ME3 to be spoiled for you
This one is fairly simple. You can't hijack the first Atlus you encounter at the Biotics school. You just need to ground that one into the floor.
The best time to hijack an Atlus is either on the Citadel invasion, or when retrieving the Cerberus Scientists and you're on the shuttle platform.
When it drops out of the sky, equip your sniper rifle and get into cover. Now, make sure you're in a good position so that you're facing the Atlus head on, and you can see the cockpit shielded by glass. Once you've got clear vision, enter scope and unload fire on the glass protecting the cockpit. You'll need to smash this to smithereens (and that can take a good 6 shots depending on your difficulty) Once the glass has gone, you'll need to focus on the driver in the cockpit, snipe him out of his seat, and eventually the Atlus will stop moving.
Now you can just run over to the hulking mass of machinery, press A to clamber aboard and ride the Atlus, allowing mass destruction to ensue.
Achievement Unlocked. Congratulations
Who's gonna give me Jessica Chobot's old job now it's vacant, then?

Re: Mass Effect 3 Achievements
Just out of interest, does anyone know if it's possible to hijack an Atlas in multiplayer?

Have no idea, but I would assume so.

Re: Mass Effect 3 Achievements
I don't think it is boys. Last time I was on we got a couple of Atlases and me and this other guy were both unloading into it's canopy for fucking ages. No smashing. It just kept on coming till it went down. It's a shame but I can kind of understand why; I suspect if one person managed to hijack a mech they'd just sweep all the kills for the next few rounds. Despite the fact that it's about cooperation and not competition people would bitch and moan because many feel the need to find competition in everything. So I reckon it's a balance and fairness thing. Still.
I should really get on this more. I think the upcoming free MP pack will help a bit; some new maps are more than welcome. I would also love them to patch the import shit so I can actually play the fucking main game. Instead of pandering to the people who whined about the ending or beefing up the multiplayer (which was supposed to be an optional distraction) maybe they should be fixing the one fundamental thing that's massively fucked? I feel the guiding hand of EA in the multiplayer beef-up...

Re: Mass Effect 3 Achievements
Worry not people, the new DLC (available today in America, and no doubt early am Wednesday for Europe as is invariably the case, unless someone is smiling upon us for once) not only has a host of new additional multiplayer content, but I can confirm that it will also finally include a patch for the much maligned facial import bug. About time too.
However, I am sure I am not alone in saying that for many, the patch is sadly too little too late. I don't mind so much as to be honest, I lucked out when I re-created my Shepard from scratch, and actually prefer this newer build. So backtracking now seems pretty pointless.
Still, it's good to know that those fans of the franchise - like my Brother-in-arms Trent, who have been so patient (how in the hell did you manage that?) can now finally get to play the game as they should have been able to do so some time back.
Spoiler section ahead: (No plot points discussed, but just to be safe - highlight if you wish to read it)
That said, I am sure there are many out there who having heard about the fan uproar over "that ending" (I liked it, just needed more exposition after the fact to make it feel like my choices counted was all, but that's just me) may feel compelled to hold off until the "extended cut" is released in the summer - and by anyone's standards, that's pretty damned unfair. (Don't even get me started on the fact that this Extended Cut DLC is just that - DLC...what happens when they pull it? Will it be available on updated versions of physical retail copies? Does this mean I have to buy it again? Will BioWare honour an exchange program? Etc etc - It throws up so many damned questions it's ridiculous).
Whichever way they play it, BioWare have come out of this with egg on their pretty much untarnished record. I would have much preferred a pushed back release date. In hindsight, i'm sure BioWare now feel the same too.
It'll be interesting how this plays out for sure, it ain't over yet by a long shot.
