Trent wrote:I'm quite glad he's got a new voice actually Paddy. In the first game he sounded like the wussiest wiseguy ever, all lispy and difficult to take seriously. Also the concept art seems to show he looks a little more badass this time, rather than a bit of a goth with shit hair. I LOVED the first Darkness too but Jackie himself seemed an odd character, like he didn't fit into his intentions.

Oh I don't know, I think that was one of the reasons that I did like Jackie in the first game, because he was a pretty quiet, reserved guy with simple pleasures despite his gang-connections. I don't think you necessarily need a strong/butch/evil/'my Daddy smacked me when I was a kid, I have issues' type to have a rounded protagonist.

Trent wrote:Oh and I hope Mike Patton is still voicing the Darkness itself. He was brilliant and brought real life and character to the creature, despite his music being shit lol.

Yup, Mr Bungle himself is most definately involved!

Played this Saturday at London Comic Con, very gruesome and graphic! Speaking of graphics, it appeared to have some weird cell shading effect on the characters (was this style in the first game?), reminded me a bit of Crackdown. Oh, and some of the nicest fire effects I have seen in a game!
I'm Batman! Well okay maybe not, but I bloody deserve to be after collecting all those Riddler trophies in Arkham City!

Hi Andy, no - the new 'cell-shaded' style is a new addition, as they're trying to tie-in a more genuine 'graphic novel' feel to the game, which in my opinion is no bad thing.

The first is definitely an oft over-looked gem in my opinion.

The first one is definately worth picking up, there's a lot going on in it if you're in to exploring every nook and cranny. Not to mention 'Prey' is worth searching out too - you can find both of them for under a tenner easily i'm sure.

Prey was a ruddy good game, shame it was so underated, there was something about it i loved. Yes it had poor graphics and the gravity did become anoying, but all of it seemed to... flow?. I still think that was a very underated game.
