PS VITA

Figured I would kick this off.

Who else pre-ordered this then?

What you all think of it so far. Personally I love it and after playing it for 2 days can make the bold statement of saying, it pisses all over the 3DS. Love the redesign and the new UI that really works. Also has some cracking features.

Welcome Park: Love the idea of a series of mini games that allow you to learn about the features. Plus the added support of trophies too, makes this a good idea.

Uncharted Golden Abyss: Love the game. Ties in well with the Uncharted world and the gameplay is very similar to the PS3 incarnations. Also like the additional puzzles, as a whole really add to the game. Issues I have found being with the back touch pad, which doesn't like to allow you to climb sometimes, not always though. The motion control works well and even the snipe mode.

Little Deviants: Played some of this and do like the mini games which each have their own difficulties. Using pretty much most of the features on the VITA and unlocking different mini games as you progress. Keeps you occupied for a bit.

Escape Plan: This game reminds me of Limbo. Work through the levels and avoid the traps. Its simple to begin with but then happily throws a spanner in the works  cannot fault the game at all. Worth the £10 off PSN of anyone's money.

Motorstorm RC: Reminds me of Micro Machines and so far the only game I have that allows cross play. Fun little thing and something to pass the time, but would have been better if it was like the other games in the series.

Frobisher Says: Got to be the weirdest yet fun games that I have played. Got it for free as a pre order bonus and only available through a code at the moment. Worth taking a look at if you get the chance to. Completely random and can be a little repetitive till you unlock more levels.

AR GAMES Fireworks, cliff Diving and Table Football: Do what they do. Kinda addictive but like the AR games on the 3DS, you only play when you get bored.

Thats my little run down. What you got and what you all think?

Ok, so I'm a taking a look at the Vita right now and you know what the first thing that hits me is? The cost of additional media.

Sony have always been famous for forcing people to use their own memory solutions and charging ridiculous prices for them.

Remember Memory sticks? The Sony Memory stick has only recently come down in price to £19.50 for an 8GB card from a whopping £75 two months ago. Granted, the Memory Sticks were made by Sandisk who sold the information to third parties which meant that unauthorised Memory Sticks did start popping up which were significantly cheaper.

The problem here though is that the Vita memory cards were made by Sony themselves. So it's very unlikely that the design specs will be sold on or even licensed to other manufacturers meaning that the cost is probably not going to come down any time soon. Sure, we will see true 'reverse engineered' knockoff cards pop up eventually but those haven't worked out that well in the past.

You not using the same tag as your PSN? helps with the remote play which is another cool feature. Cant wait to see how that expands.

Another game I think is pretty awesome. Rayman origins. Although saying that, there is a lot of sex references.... the french are obsessed. Still, a lot of fun.
