Far Cry 3

I agree. Personally, I feel that far too much importance is being placed upon the multiplayer component in games the past year or two especially, and the gaming community is as much to blame for that as the publishers whom insist upon it.

I have to say that sadly, I find the multiplayer component in games exclusive as opposed to inclusive. Factor in that more often than not the learning curves are unforgiving and it just all makes for a pretty miserable experience unless you're some gaming hotshot or CoD/Halo fanboy who lives for tea-bagging noobs.

Don't get me wrong, i've had some great times online playing with friends and making new ones (and I do enjoy co-op), but prior to the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, the last time I genuinely enjoyed myself playing multiplayer was back when Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 were out.

Case in point: as a fan of the previous two Max Payne games, i've been looking forward to this new installment - particularly because i'm intruiged to see what a new developer can do with the franchise on a brand new system and engine. But I saw this video a few days back, and it turned me off so much that to be honest, i'm thinking of cancelling my pre-order:

Why? Because it seems so out of place and alien to the world of Max Payne I know, that it doesn't seem so inviting. The sheen and allure of Max Payne 3 has definitely been dulled for me. Whereas before I was willing to dive in solely based upon previous experiences and a top rated developer, now i'm thinking I should play my cards right and see what previews and reviews have to say before I lay down my hard-earned ca$h...
