I'm Batman! Well okay maybe not, but I bloody deserve to be after collecting all those Riddler trophies in Arkham City!

Looks friggin' AWESOME. They really seem to have put a lot of effort into the campaign this time round, even more than Bad Company 2. Quite refreshing at the moment, when the general trend seems to be moving away from singleplayer and focusing more on multiplayer. BUT, the multiplayer had still better be damn amazing, or there'll be trouble

I would've thought the boards would have been buzzing about this a couple of weeks ago, I wondered why it was deathly quiet! I just presumed I was wrong in my assumptions about you boys and your gun love :D

It's about time a developer stepped up to the plate and gave COD/Modern Warfare etc a run for their money. Not only is it good for us, it's good for the industry overall when people throw down the gauntlet like this - it prevents developers becoming jaded and stale and allowing publishers to walk all over them and throw out any old shite into the marketplace (BLoPS) and it also ensures that we get a better standard of game for our hard-earned ca$h.

More bang for my buck? Yes please.

(No jokes please.)

This is looking fucking awesome and I'm so glad. Activision need to be taken down a peg or two. Enter Battlefield motherfuckers!

Bad Company 2 showed us not only that there were much better alternatives to COD's 'shoot everyone in the face and shout abuse down the headset' multiplayer, but also that a campaign can have a thirlling, coherent plot AND likeable characters.

Now Battlefield 3 looks set to shit all over COD once again. I wouldn't worry about the multiplayer James. BC2's stellar package was utterly fantastic. considering the same dev is handling this, I seriously doubt it's going to be anything less than awesome. Possibly better than that.

The Frostbite 2 is looking crispy and beautiful. Even the pre-Alpha stuff looks on par with anything COD has come up with. I've seen some pre-vis stuff too and that looks like real life. I cannot imagine how epic this is going to look when it's all polished up.

DICE have already proved they can match and even beat COD. The action is tighter, smoother and more destructive for sure. Their approach to multiplayer is revolutionary and works so incredibly well. I lent out my copy of BC2 and I miss it!

Oh yeh, and air vents FTW! Haven't seen a good air vent for a while!

Speaking during the Ad Age Digital Conference in New York City today, CEO John Riccitiello confirm it will launch Battlefield 3 in November of this year and said the publisher has rival Activision's Call of Duty series in its sights.

"This November, we're launching Battlefield 3. It's going up against the next Call of Duty, which is presently the #1 game in the game industry," he said. "A game that last year did $400 million dollars in revenue on day one. [Battlefield 3] is designed to take that game down."

Riccitiello later compared this holiday's battle between the two games to the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry in baseball and said gamers can expect to see massive advertising campaigns for both titles.

"There will be a couple hundred million dollars of marketing against these two products going head to head. We think we have the better product," Riccitiello added.

EA Games president Frank Gibeau echoed similar comments during GDC last month when he told us: "Everybody loves a heavyweight fight, and that's what this is going to be. We're here to compete."

Hells fucking yeh! The gloves are off folks!

In the Red corner, weighing in at $1 trillion, all the way from Satan's Vagina, Hell; iiiiiiiiit's Activision! This outfit are a real bunch. Their track record includes sacking the guys who made them millions after denying them a slice of the pie, buying small developers and subsequently destroying them and charging a cheeky extra fiver for essentially less game than many other publishers are putting out! Truly agents of the Anti-Christ!

And in the Blue corner, weighing in at probably less that $1 trillion, coming out of America again, iiiiiiits, Electronic Arts! These guys have spent the last few years releasing top quality, creative and innovative titles, while supporting their aggregate developers and allowing creativity and freedom over mass profit. This approach has led to them fronting this year's BAFTA GOTY. But lest we forget their studio acquisition methods have also been brought into question.

Who wins? You decide!

I personally hope EA wipes the fucking floor with Activision. I've had enough of them lauding it over everyone.

I feel the same Trent; it makes me laugh though to be supporting EA, now the lesser of two evils, when I remember that ages ago they were the Activision of today.

Yeh I get ya. It's like Labour and Tory; they're both shite, but one of them's gonna win so you migtht as well support the least shite one! Do we have a Lib Dem publisher? If we did, it probably got into bed with Activision years ago lol!
