Neil’s Deals 08/09/09
There seems to be an ever-increasing amount of bargain sites and forums that I am trawling through on a daily basis as I try to bring you the best gaming bargains across all of the main consoles.
Just like John Peel listened to every record sent his way in case he ever missed out on the next big thing, I never miss a site on my daily search for a super gaming bargain in the very unlikely event I miss out on a PS3 Slim for £99. You never know; stranger things have happened. But I think it is wishful thinking on my behalf. However, the word on the street is you can buy a PS3 Slim with the Far-Cry 2 game and the Quantum of Solace Blu-ray disc for £212.76 at HMV tax free at Gatwick Airport North terminal. It makes the Ryan Air 1p flights look quite tempting.
Anyway enough of my ramblings, it’s time for a roundup of the best of my gaming bargains for those of you that missed them on Twitter.
I will start proceedings with a look at console accessories; the cheapest wired Xbox 360 controller is £11.93 whilst the wireless version can be yours for £17.95. This gives me a nice tenuous link to the Nintendo Wii Remote Charging Stand reduced to £7.99 and the PS3 Controller Dual Charging Dock is only £8.24. If you are looking for an official DualShock PS3 controller, the cheapest price at the moment is £29.60. Finally, on the Wii, according to today’s papers, Morrison’s is selling the Wii Fit with board for £49.99 until this Sunday and Argos is selling the Wii Compatible Steering Wheel and stand for only £2.99.
On the Xbox Live Arcade, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords has now been reduced to half price for a fantastic 400 Microsoft Points. This game gets rave reviews everywhere but I must warn you that it is highly addictive.
I often remind you of the golden rule which is “it’s only a bargain if you actually want the game” but for those of you that ignore such rules (after all, rules are meant to be broken) there are a few cheap and cheerful games out there such as Monsters vs Aliens on the 360 for £11.99, Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe for £10.99, Fracture for £7.99, Beautiful Katamari for £7.95 and Shadowrun also on the Xbox 360 for £3.95. If sports games are your thing you could do much worse than pick up the fairly new Baseball game The Bigs 2 for only £14.83
PS3 players can be proud owners of Sid Meiers Civilization Revolution for under a tenner, Skate 2 for £13, or Fallout 3 for £14.98.
For those of you that are excited about the upcoming release of Fifa 10, the cheapest pre-order at the moment is £34.85. I know there are more than a few of you out there that already have one eye on Christmas (and you know who you are) for you guys and dolls I can offer you a cheap pre-order of Singstar Motown for only £14.99 on the PS3. You can then watch in horror this Christmas as Mum & Dad belt out Christmas Classics after one too many glasses of Asti Spumante.
Bargain of the week
Finally, it’s time for our Bargain of the Week. As Sony has announced access to PlayStation Network, content and services including videos and comics will be made even easier from September with the availability at retail of PlayStation Network Voucher Cards in £20 and £50 denominations, allowing consumers to purchase from the PlayStation Store without the need for a credit card. PS3 owners have been so patient and there is a huge interest in this product, but I better stop waffling and tell you you can get a £20 Sony Network Card for £15.90, so if you are planning to spend big, at least you get more for your money.

Microsoft Points converter not required
If you have more money than sense and plan on buying a £50 Playstaion Network Card, the cheapest price is £44.85.
As this week’s Neil’s Deals comes to an end I am off to search the forums again for more gaming bargains. Also, as a little teaser, I will begin working on a special 7-day giveaway coming your way soon. Remember to follow us on Twitter for the very latest deals, and feel free to contact me anytime if you have any requests.
