Neil’s Deals 23/08/09

ND TempSorry for the delay in bringing you this instalment of Neil’s Deals, but bargains have been in low supply for the last two weeks. Another problem we have is that some of the best bargains out there online disappear from the shelves by the time the article goes to press, so make sure you don’t miss out on anything and follow us on twitter for the best deals as they happen.

Have no fear though, I have been trawling through an increasing amount of forums, bargain and gaming sites so you don’t have to. Fasten your seatbelts get your cards at the ready but remember the golden rule, it’s only a bargain if you actually want the game.

The underrated game Mirror’s Edge that has appeared on here before is now at an unmissable price of £4.98 on the PS3. Another bargain for PS3 gamers is the pre-order of Killzone 2: Platinum Edition for a respectable £15.99. Two games for just over twenty quid without breaking the bank. Still have money spare for a PS3 game? Unchartered: Drake’s Fortune can be picked up for a cool £9.99. If all this gaming wears out your controller, a new wireless dual shock controller is currently £26.99.

Over on the Nintendo Wii they have the great game House Of The Dead: Overkill for £6.79 which goes a long way to show that there is more to the Wii than kids games. The Wii accessory “Wii Speak” is £7.39 at Argos. RPG fans should also snap up Persona 3 FES for the PS2 at £9.77.

There seems to be quite a few Xbox 360 games going for great prices at the moment for all ages too. Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts will keep the children and big kids quiet for £7.98. Devil May Cry 4 can be picked up for £7.99, a pre-owned copy of Gears of War 2 can be all yours for £12.99, the classic Crackdown is a breathtaking £9.79, Star Wars: Force Unleashed is a very affordable £12.99 and Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe at a button bashing £12.98. If your fingers can take it Street Fighter IV is now £17.99 on both Xbox 360 and the PS3.

The new game Section 8 also on the Xbox 360 can be picked up for a very cheap pre-order price of £17.99.

Sony have re-ignited the games console wars by reducing the price of its flagship console, the PlayStation 3, on September 1st, The PS3 will now cost £249.99 in the UK, down from £299.99 making it a bit more affordable and many people will now be ready to take the plunge. But just before you do, hang on a minute as it’s time for our bargain of the week.
