Borderland 2’s Vita release date revealed via Twitter [Updated]

January 21, 2014, Author: Andy Corrigan

Update 2: 2K have tweeted again to say that their announcement was in error, and that the release date was incorrect. They also advised following PlayStation and Gearbox for more details in the meantime. Still, where did this rogue date come from? No smoke without fire? For now this mystery will remain unanswered.

Update: The tweet from 2K has mysteriously disappeared. Did they schedule the tweet to go too early? Did they get hacked? Who knows? I’m sure all will be revealed soon. We’ll keep you posted!

I, like many other fans were cautiously excited when it was announced that Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2 would be heading to Vita in 2014. After a few months of silence it’s surprising to hear, then, that we won’t have to wait all that long to find out how well the porting process (handled by Dive Kick developer Iron Galaxy) has gone.

Via their official twitter feed, 2K has confirmed that it will hit Vita this March 18th.

There’s not much more to the story than this tweet at this point, but I for one can’t wait to shoot pyschos and find that sweet loot while out and about. Hopefully this handheld port can do both the Vita and the Borderlands series justice.
