‘Five Nights At Freddy’s’ Movie In The Works

April 8, 2015, Author: Matt Parker

Normally the idea of a movie based off a popular videogame leads to feelings of horror that the makers don’t necessarily want you to have. This time, I’m sure the dread is intentional. This is because Five Nights at Freddy’s, the hit indie horror title, is being given the Hollywood treatment thanks to Warner Bros.

There’s no confirmation as to who’s staring, directing or even writing the picture at this time. The only people on-board are producers, though between them there’s claim to such hits as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and The Lego Movie. Excited?

To be fair, Five Nights at Freddy’s already played like an interactive (barely) version of Paranormal Activity, so  maybe the jump into cinemas won’t be that difficult. As you’d expect, one of the producers, Seth Grahame-Smith, was happy to get they hype rolling;

We’re looking forward to working with Scott [Cawthon, maker of Five Nights at Freddy’s] to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie…”

I don’t know if adorable is the right tone to go for in a Five Nights movie. We’ll have to wait and see.
