Spike’s VGAs Happened – Here are the Winners

Winners need losers. They also need people to write about them winning. So here are the winners from this year’s VGAs.

It’s award season folks! You better get used to seeing lists of winners informing you of games that you didn’t have time to play / money to buy / knowledge of. So get ready for your ‘pile of shame’ to grow by a considerable amount.

Kicking off this yearly tradition is Spike’s VGAs. Consisting of a winners list as long as your arm, assuming your arm is as long as 26 categories, let’s take a peek at this year’s triumphant games.

I’m really happy to see ‘The Walking Dead’ get some serious recognition among this list. Whilst I found it difficult to say it was a good ‘game’, the story, characters and decisions I had to make whilst ‘playing’ will stay with me for a good long while.

  1. Game of the Year – The Walking Dead: The Game (Telltale Games)
  2. Studio of the Year – Telltale Games

  25. Best DLC – Dawnguard – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda Softworks/Bethesda Game Studios)
  26. Most Anticipated Game – Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar Games)

With this being the tenth year of the VGAs, it looks like the list is getting a little bloated. Imagine sitting through that award ceremony. To break it up, there were a whole host of trailers and announcements of new games. All of this will be coming up in a later post (once the trailers are back up on YouTube).

Any of those stick out to you? Got something you’d like to say about the victors? Drop us a comment or jump on the forums.
