Get Down to Deep Down’s New Trailer

September 10, 2013, Author: Ariana Hester, 1 Comment

Announced back in February, Deep Down, one of Capcom’s PS4 titles, finally has a teaser trailer thanks to Sony’s Pre-TGS press conference.

Looking like a spin-off to Dragon’s Dogma, does our first look of Deep Down offer any new information and, more impoartantly, does it  make us want to know more? Let’s find out.

Set in 2094 New York, players have the ability to relive historic memories by “reading” monuments, artifacts and various items. Featuring randomly generated maps, monsters and weapons it’s sure to have some great replay value.

Some serious questions to be asked. Number one being ‘why does it look like the medievil era in future New York’? Number two is ‘can I climb on those big nasties’?

We expect a playable demo at TGS later in the month which will hopefully mean we’ll get more video and hands-on impressions.

At the PS4 event this looked like a dark, harrowing, co-op dungeon fighter and was one of my most anticipated next-gen games. This new trailer is kind of disappointing. The music is awful but that's not too important. The story, the dialogue... it all smacks of cheesy Japanese drama. If I have to sit through badly-scripted scenes of some fop-haired teenager bumbling through a conversation with a grumpy scientist in between dragon battles, I'm not sure it could be anything but mood-breaking. Oh well, I suppose we'll see.
