Kingdom Hearts Series Gets 2 New Trailers

October 15, 2013, Author: Ariana Hester

Many years ago it was decided that combining characters from a JRPG series with Disney characters would be a good idea. I must admit, I didn’t think it would work out all that well. I certainly didn’t think that, over 10 years later, we’d still be talking about Kingdom Hearts.

Shows what I know. We’ve got plenty of new Kingdom Hearts to look forward to and, oddly enough, there’s some old Kingdom Hearts to have a look at too.

As some of you may already be aware of, the Playstation 3 is getting a re-mastered version of a couple of the older Kingdom Hearts game. The collection keeps up the Kingdom Hearts tradition of odd titles by having an absolutely ridiculous name. It’s called Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix. The collection will consist of 2 games, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, as well as the cinematics from the DS title Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.

I’m sure that fans of the series have a better idea of what it is this all means. Fan or not, I’m sure you can appreciate the work that’s been done to make a fairly old PS2 game look at home on the PS3. Here’s a trailer;

Of course, the really exciting news is all about Kingdom Hearts 3. After being announced at E3, nothing has been seen of the title until today when, at a Disney expo held in Japan, a trailer was released.

No context is provided for the footage shown and, so far, no real surprises. It’s just nice to see that after being announced, work on the game is progressing well enough for footage to be shown at this early stage.
