Be a Part of Indie History! Help Smash the Block!
July 7, 2012, Author: Diogo Miguel
Haven’t heard of Hard Lines? It’s just one of the best mobile device video-games launched last year on devices like the iPhone, iPad and iTouch.
Spilt Milk Studios hasn’t been resting since its launch, though. Its latest mobile device project Smash the Block is near completion, and you can be a part of it.
Smash the Block is a free download, but to celebrate Spilt Milk Studios mastermind, Andrew Smith, has started a very special crowd-funding project.
Anyone can donate between $5 to $1000. Each donation tier will earn the donator a special gift. Such gifts range from signed artwork, badges and even a cameo in Smash the Block. It’s generous of the developer to take the time to come up with such unique rewards.
Andrew J Smith, founder of Spilt Milk Studios had the following statement to add:
“I’m a bit scared. This crowd-funding attempt is slightly different to the usual stuff. Smash The Block is looking very healthy, and we’re aiming for a summer release, regardless of the outcome of this campaign… but we thought we could offer a ton of really cool limited edition merchandise and fun stuff – such as cake, baked by my very own hand – to anyone who’s a fan of the company or what they’ve seen of the game so far.”
This interesting approach to crowd-funding will last for about a month. So don’t wait too long because some of the rewards are gone! Those interested can find more information on the Indiegogo official Smash the Block donations page.
Smash the Block will be released for free in the near future on iOS devices. Players must protect the Chump creatures, while smashing menacing blocks to reclaim their homes. It contains such promising features as leaderboards, achievements and plenty of interesting levels to get through.
